A top-25 showdown is set for Saturday afternoon in Columbia, Missouri. The No. 6 Tigers welcome the No. 24 Boston College Eagles to “The Zou” for an interesting battle of SEC and ACC programs.
Missouri is coming off its 38-0 shutout of the Buffalo Bulls in Week 2, and the team has still not surrendered a single point this season. The offense isn’t too shabby either, with Brady Cook completing 71.6% of his throws for 456 yards and a score while adding three touchdowns on the ground.
Last week, Cook’s favorite target was wide receiver Theo Wease Jr., who torched the Buffalo secondary. Wease reeled in a whopping 13 catches and turned those into 149 yards. Expect Wease, a sixth-year senior, to be involved early and often again this Saturday.
This will be a tough matchup for Boston College, but it’s already pulled off an upset against a ranked team when it beat Florida State in Tallahassee in Week 1, Last week, the Eagles hammered Duquesne, 56-0, while the offense ran wild. Seven different ball-carriers combined to rush for 306 yards and three scores.
Quarterback Thomas Castellanos also threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Castellanos only ran for eight yards in the game, but he showed off his wheels with 73 yards and a score in that upset of the Seminoles.
