Omoda supports UK launch with showcase at Automotive Management Live


Delegates attending this year’s Automotive Management Live on November 13 at the NEC, Birmingham will be able to explore the Omoda E5 SUV.

The one day exhibition and conference event offers automotive retailers a unique opportunity to explore the brand following its UK debut this year, in line with Omoda’s ambitious plans to establish a significant presence in the UK market.

Attendance to Automotive Management Live, in association with Phyron, is free of charge for dealers who register in advance.

Omoda, as part of the dual-brand Omoda and Jaecoo, is owned by Chery, China’s largest vehicle exporter, is aiming high in the UK market, targeting 16,000 sales in its first full year,  with plans to be fully embedded in the UK automotive market by 2025.

To support this, the brand has already opened franchise partnerships with groups such as Endeavour Automotive, Listers, and Peter Vardy, with more than 60 dealer sites across the UK which will expand to 100 by the end of 2024. There will be 120 dealership sites operational by 2026.

The E5 is a dynamic fastback featuring a 187 bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, and has been designed to stand out from the crowd. Inside, the car features two 10.25” high-resolution screens, multi-colour interior lighting, wireless phone charging and a full suite of ADAS safety technologies. 

The all-electric E5 is powered by a 150 kW (204 bhp) electric motor and a 61 kWh ‘blade’ battery. With optimised aerodynamics, the E5 offers a WLTP range of 257 miles. The electric crossover SUV can charge up to 80 kW, with a 30% to 80% top-up possible in just 28 minutes. 

Both 5 and E5 models have been awarded a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating and come with a seven-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty as standard and prices start from just £23,525.

Omoda’s expansion is part of a broader strategy to increase brand awareness in the UK, targeting a 50/50 split between retail and fleet sales.

The company has also signed up with The Motor Ombudsman, reinforcing its commitment to high service standards from launch.

The 5 will be followed by the 9, and Omoda’s sister brand, Jaecoo, which will debut with a premium SUV, the Jaecoo 7 in Q1 2025.

The E5 and the team from Omoda will be on the E-Street stand in Hall 10. E-Street will also feature BYD, GWM Ora and Subaru, as well as a suprise vehicle…
