Motor Range acquires Sytner’s Carshop Manchester

North West based used car supermarket Motor Range has acquired Syner’s Carshop Manchester location for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition turns Motor Range into a North West based group with this Manchester location added to its already established site on Dunnings Bridge Road in Liverpool.

Shaun Lane, Motor Range sales director, confirmed the news on LinkedIn: “After months of hard work we welcome the current team of staff to the Motor Range family and we’re all excited to take this operation to the next level.

“It’s been a pleasure dealing with Sytner during the acquisition and Motor Range wishes them well for the future.”

Sytner announced over a year ago that it would rebrand its CarShop businesses as Sytner Select, close one location and sell other sites as part of a major strategic review.

The dealer group bought the CarShop business back in 2017 and had expanded with new locations in Bristol in 2019 and then Nottingham in 2020.

The company has since sold or closed four locations, including Manchester, as well as Norwich, Sheffield and Doncaster.

The remaining eight Synter Select locations include Bristol, Nottingham, Cardiff, Northampton, Swindon, Wakefield, Warrington and Wolverhampton.
