LOOK: Flavor Flav shows off bronze clock necklace for Jordan Chiles after U.S. gymnast has medal stripped

The International Olympic Committee ruled Sunday that United States gymnast Jordan Chiles would have to return the bronze medal she won in floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This came following a scoring inquiry at the event’s Aug. 5 final. As a result, the IOC is awarding the bronze to Romania’s Ana Bărbosu, who Chiles had edged out for third place.

Following the controversy, rapper Flavor Flav is making sure Chiles’ performance is being honored. Flav posted on X that he wants to award Chiles a bronze block necklace to celebrate her accomplishment.

“Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan,” Flav wrote. “imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, and that’s something NO ONE else has,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu!!!”

On Tuesday, Flavor Flav proved that he keeps his promises. The rapper posted a video on his X account showing off a bronze clock necklace that he is gifting to Chiles.

Over the years, Flav has been known for wearing signature clock necklaces.

The rapper became the official hype man for the United States women’s water polo team during the 2024 Olympics. Flav personally sponsored the team at the Olympics, and he was in attendance in Paris to support many different American sports teams.

Flav also supported more American athletes at the Olympics, like discus thrower Veronica Fraley, who posted to social media that she was having trouble paying her rent. Flav and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian sent her funds to help Fraley get by.

Regarding Chiles, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that the scoring inquiry ended up being submitted just four seconds beyond the one-minute deadline. As a result, the inquiry shouldn’t have been accepted.

USA Gymnastics, however, provided video evidence that the scoring inquiry was made inside of the allowed time, so the organization is hoping Chiles can keep her bronze medal.

The Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique stated the standings were changed based on the CAS ruling. Meanwhile, the IOC stated the governing body would contact the U.S. Olympic Committee in relation to the return of Chiles’ medal.
