When it comes to celebrity manicures, Megan Thee Stallion is second to none. This is, in no small part, thanks to her nail artist, Tahvya Krok of @nailsbytav, whose work belongs in the MoMA — and often draws inspiration from Gen Z–approved contemporary artists, like George Condo.
The latest painterly proof came Monday, October 21, when Megan, 29, revealed color-blocked, Mondrian-inspired nails that were a work of art. Arriving at the God’s Love Delivers Golden Heart Awards in New York City, she sent cameras flashing on the red carpet as she posed for photographers, blowing them kisses and holding up her digits for all to see.
They were filed into a long, squared-off shape and painted in a palette of bold primary colors with a different design on each finger. The more Mondrian-eseque nails had interlocking black lines and geometric rectangles that fitted together. Others were painted in shades like Barbie pink or Brat green and were surrounded by spangly rhinestones.
Megan dialed up the shine with a crystal-covered Judith Leiber butterfly bag. The eye-catching effect popped against the rapper’s black Michael Kors Collection dress, a pinup-style silhouette with a halter neckline and a bustier push-up top that highlighted her curves. She took it one step further with a slit cut up to there, plus a killer pair of knife-point black leather pumps.
Her hair was completely curled and swept into a glamorous updo, with a few ringlets that fell over her brow in the most alluring way. Megan amped up the sex appeal with a smokey eye and a flick of sharp winged eyeliner, plus perfectly lined mauve lips with a high-shine glossy finish.
When she ascended the stage to receive the genLOVE Award — the first of its kind — for Outstanding Philanthropy at the gala, in recognition of her organization the Pete & Thomas Foundation, she addressed the room full of “hotties” before paying tribute to her late parents.
“They are the people who taught me the importance of giving back. I never saw giving back as a chore or a struggle,” the Grammy winner said, according to Vogue. “Anything my [family] could give, they would give. So I’m continuing with their legacy.”
Her look alone left a similarly lasting impression.
