Steer opens second dedicated electric vehicle repair centre

Steer Automotive Group has opened its second dedicated electric vehicle repair facility with this latest facility located in Milton Keynes.

The new site is addition to the Southampton EV specialist centre that Steer opened this summer.

The new site investment expands the group’s specialist electric vehicle repair capacity to meet the increasing demand for EV repair capability within the current and future UK vehicle parc through emerging new EV brands.

The 14,000-square-foot facility is designed to accommodate the latest EV technology, offering aluminium structural repair capabilities.

It is specifically equipped with high voltage technology tooling to manage both current and next-generation EVs.

Steer’s team of technicians have undergone specialist training for EV systems and safety protocols.

The site features a business lounge and working area.

With the support of private equity investors, Steer has completed over 20 acquisitions since 2021, consolidating accident repairers and expanding from its core passenger car repair market into luxury car repair, commercial vehicle repair and technical services.

The business remains acquisitive and snapped up specialist fleet vehicle repair chain Komoo in August, as well as LCV repair specialist Carcomm Coachworks at the start of October.
